This next group of photos are probably the most telling of all because it becomes crystal clear how truly reckless this action was.

Standing on the road edge this is a photo showing where Buddy was and where Desiree Zinich was running from.

This photo was taken to the left of where the officer was when he made his shot.
I was standing on the ground. You can see that had I had a gun I would not have had a clear shot at this little deer.

This photo was taken standing on the roadway right above where buddy was shot.
It now should be clear why this officer had to leap into the bed of the pick-up parked there in order to shoot him. It is a guess but I would imagine that this little deer was more than 30 feet down in a gully and well off the roadway when this officer shot him.

Do you consider this an immediate threat to the public?
Do you consider it a threat at all?
Was it worth taking the chance of a bullet glancing off a rock and possibly killing a bystander to deal with this little deer?
I certainly do not think so.
